A Babbumatta playing a match against a GadiranEach player starts with a randomly generated deck of 45 cards. Each card has three key attributes: a berry cost, an attack value, and a health value.

The berry cost determines if the card can be played, as players must spend berries equal to the card's cost. The attack value indicates the damage a card deals to an opposing card, or to the opposing player if no opposing card is present, reducing their health. The health value determines how much damage a card can take before it is destroyed.

Players use berries to play cards from their hand, and the game continues with players attacking each other's cards or health. If a player's health reaches 0, they lose the game.

A Gadiran discovering new consumablesEach player starts the game with 3 consumables, identical for both players. Consumables can be used at any time during a turn to gain an advantage, but only one can be used per turn by dragging it to the board. Consumables are not replenished during a match.

Berries

An Oru plucking berries from a bushBoth the Defender and the Attacker start the match with 1 berry to spend. Each turn, players receive 1 card and 1 additional berry for free, as long as they have less than 3 cards in their hand and 5 berries in their stash. Players can also choose to take either an extra card or an berry at the start of each round. Unspent berries are carried over to the next turn.

Player sides

Eclipse of Edenhorde is a two-player game. The game is played on a 2x4 grid, with each player occupying one side of the grid. The player that created the match acts as the Defender, and the other player acts as the Attacker. Each player starts with 15 health.

Turns

The Defender always goes first, drawing a card and playing one or more cards based on their available berries. After ending their turn, the played cards attack the Attacker's units. The Attacker then draws a card and takes their turn. The game continues in this manner until one player wins.

When a card is played, it is dormant for one turn, meaning it cannot attack or be attacked. After one turn, the card becomes active and can both attack and be attacked.

Cards with the Haste ability are not locked when played and can attack or defend immediately. At the start of a match, there is a 15% chance for your cards to receive Haste, while some cards inherently have this ability.

Time limit

Each turn, either player is given 1 minute and 30 seconds to decide on their actions. Once the timer runs out, the player's turn ends automatically (taking a card from their deck if they haven't already). If a player is disconnected when the timer runs out, the match is forfeited.
